WE’RE JUST A FEW WEEKS AWAY
ReFRESH™ 2009

This year at Sherwood has been, by any measure, the greatest year in our history in attendance, number of visitors, baptisms, new Sunday School members, expansion of ministry, giving to missions, paying off the debt, starting churches in San Francisco and Baltimore, and more!

And it all started at ReFRESH™ 2008. God did something last year. He’s worked among us every year, but last year we broke through a previously unknown or unrecognized barrier. It seemed we were finally willing to take our obedience to a new level. We took the lid off. We let the Spirit have His will and His way, and the results and the overflow are still lingering in the air around here.

This year I’m believing God for more! While we must not judge by the externals, we do know that when God is working IN us, He is eventually going to work THROUGH us. What’s happening on the inside will be revealed on the outside. I’m believing God for an incredible movement in us, among us, and through us this year. How about you?

Make sure you are using the 24 Days of Prayer guide. Pray and meditate on those great passages on revival. Focus your heart toward the Lord. Ask Him to speak to you BEFORE the conference. Avail yourself to Him in all areas. Prioritize your calendar. Take a few personal days off from work. Bring your children to ReFRESH™ for Kids. Get your students here. This year we’re going to have at least two sessions at SCA for our students and faculty during the school day. We want God to do a mighty work among our students this year. I’m believing God that He will raise up some children and students who choose to “look up and go deep” at a young age.

Many of the faces at ReFRESH™ will be familiar. But I know these men, and they are seeking the Lord for a fresh word for this year. They are not going to come in here riding the wave of last year. They are going to come with a word from the Word for God’s people.

We have pastors who are coming from other states to be a part of the conference this year. Make them feel welcome and loved. We have an opportunity to see God take us higher and deeper. Pray. Believe. Invite. This could be the beginning of an incredible new work among us.
